Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn :
I have chosen Rembrandt as my "guiding artist". Rembrandt was one of the most famous painters who painted "Realism Art". He worked with print making and painted portraits of his contemporaries, self-portraits and illustrations of scenes from the Bible. His self-portraits form a unique and intimate biography, in which the artist surveyed himself without vanity and with the utmost sincerity. He used the techniques of chiaroscuro, realism and constantly used oil in canvas and oil on panel. The Bible inspired Rembrandt to develop his paintings. Much of his inspiration also came from his roommate who had been living with him for several years who was also a painter.
